PRINCIPLE OF GIVING
St Margaret Lothbury is part of the Church of England, and its day-to-day operations are financed entirely by the congregation.
So as we seek to glorify God in every aspect of our lives, let us not forget the joy of giving.
Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer [insects and plagues] for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you happy and blessed, for you shall be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 3 : 10-12)
We can never “outgive” God since He is no man’s debtor, so we give as generously as possible.
HOW TO GIVE
- By Standing Order – download the form on this website, complete it, and place it in the offering basket or post it to St Margaret Lothbury. This is the most cost effective way of giving, requiring minimal administration and greatly assisting the church council with its budgeting process.
- By Ad Hoc gifts of cash or cheques in Gift Aid envelopes placed in the offering basket
REASON FOR GIFT AID
Gift Aid enables charities and non-profit organisations to claim back the tax you have already paid on your donation which, in the case of St Margaret’s, amounts to thousands of pounds each year.
So please download the form on this website now and place it completed into the offering basket or post it to St Margaret Lothbury.
Also please think Gift Aid with your ad hoc cash donations at services by completing a Gift Aid envelope – why not take some home ahead of your next St Margaret’s service and bring them along ready to place in the offering basket.
